Maryland forward John Auslander will miss the rest of the season with a broken left tibia.
Auslander is averaging 1.3 points and 0.5 rebounds in four games for the Terrapins (9-1), who play host to Stony Brook (8-2) on Friday.
The junior forward played extensively early last season before center Alex Len became eligible, averaging 1.0 points and 0.6 rebounds in 14 games. He has played 16 minutes this season and appeared in the first half of a couple games this month.
Auslander could undergo surgery as early as Friday, coach Mark Turgeon said. He will be out 12 weeks after the surgery.
The loss of Auslander leaves Maryland with 13 available players for the final two-thirds of the regular season.
