You might have heard the latest uniform news out of Maryland, which (in a total upset) will have an entirely different look Saturday when the Terrapins meet Georgia Tech.

(Actually, last week provided the upset, since Maryland wore black helmets, red jerseys and black pants for the second time this season. That’s only the third repeat outfit over the last two seasons).

In any case, Maryland will wear black jerseys this week. And of late, black jerseys have coincided with losses: Six in a row and seven out of eight. The last victory was the rotten tomato look (black jerseys/red pants) worn in 2009 against Clemson.

Overall, the Terps are 5-9 this century while wearing black jerseys of any kind:
