Time for a quick glance back at Saturday’s pregame predictions for Navy …

1. Keenan Reynolds will account for three touchdowns.

CORRECT. It was another stellar day for the freshman, who rushed for 159 yards and a score and threw two touchdowns to Brandon Turner. He’s accounted for 14 touchdowns and one turnover since taking over for an injured Trey Miller in the fourth quarter of an Oct. 6 victory at Air Force.

2. Navy will punt at least once.

CORRECT. Sophomore Pablo Beltran averaged 39.5 yards on a pair of punts, but reached that number with a couple extremes – a 61-yard attempt and an 18-yard dud. Nonetheless, he did get some work in after not doing so a week earlier. Beltran has only eight punts in Navy’s last four games, a number that is no doubt heartwarming to coach Ken Niumatalolo.

3. Navy will top 35 minutes of possession time.

INCORRECT. The Mids have the first quarter to thank for that. Navy held the ball for only 3:17 of the opening period, then 26:21 of the final 45 minutes. In the end, Florida Atlantic actually held a slight edge in possession time (30:22 to 29:38).

4. Keegan Wetzel will add at least another 1.5 tackles for loss.

INCORRECT. As a team, Navy managed only one tackle for loss, and it was defensive end Wes Henderson who snagged it. Wetzel had another solid game with seven tackles, but none of them came behind the line of scrimmage.

5. Navy will win.

CORRECT. The Mids collected their fifth straight victory and clinched bowl eligibility with the 24-17 triumph. On Navy’s general checklist of goals, its invitation to the Fight Hunger Bowl in San Francisco is secured, a guarantee of a winning season is a victory away and both the Commander-in-Chief’s Trophy and an 11th straight triumph over Army can be achieved Dec. 8.

FLORIDA ATLANTIC: 3-for-5
SEASON: 25.5-for-45
