Linebacker Darin Drakeford and kickoff returner Stefon Diggs earned ACC player of the week honors for their performances in Saturday’s 27-20 defeat of Virginia.
Drakeford was named the league’s linebacker of the week after making seven tackles (three for loss) and two sacks while also forcing a fumble recovery.
He is the second Terrapin to win the honor in its two-year history. Demetrius Hartsfield won the award last week.
Diggs returned the opening kickoff 100 yards and finished with three returns for 147 yards.
Diggs is the first Terp to win the ACC’s specialist of the week since Torrey Smith was honored after returning a kickoff for a touchdown against N.C. State in November 2009.
