ANNAPOLIS – Tidbits of note from Navy’s Wednesday’s practice …
* Junior wide receiver Matt Aiken practiced without a noncontact jersey and is expected to play Saturday at Air Force.
Aiken started 11 of 12 games a year ago, catching 13 passes for 201 yards and two touchdowns. He has not played in any of Navy’s first four games because of a right knee injury suffered during a scrimmage in early August.
“He did some good things,” coach Ken Niumatalolo said.
* Senior safety Tra’ves Bush’s status remains uncertain, but Niumatalolo said Bush will make the trip to Air Force. Bush left Saturday’s 12-0 loss to San Jose State with a concussion in the first quarter.
“He did one of his first physical workouts and so it depends on how he did after that,” Niumatalolo said. “But he looked good.”
Bush has 20 tackles (one for loss) this season. His 16 career starts ranks second among defensive players on Navy’s current roster and fourth among all players on the Mids’ active roster.
* Reserve defensive end Collin Studivant (back) will not play Saturday.
