NEW YORK – George Washington was picked to finish 13th in the Atlantic 10 in voting announced Thursday at the conference’s media day.

The A-10 has 16 teams this season after the additions of Butler and Virginia Commonwealth. The top 12 teams will advance to the conference tournament at the Barclays Center.

Saint Joseph’s was pegged to win the league, followed by Saint Louis, Virginia Commonwealth and Temple. Richmond finished 10th in the preseason voting.

The Colonials did not have a representative on the three preseason all-conference teams, its all-defensive team or its all-rookie team.

George Washington went 10-21 (5-11 A-10) in coach Mike Lonergan’s first season and returns three starters from that bunch.
