Maryland offensive lineman Nick Brigham withdraws from school

Maryland offensive lineman Nick Brigham has withdrawn from the university for personal reasons, a school spokesman said Wednesday.

Brigham had not played in the first four games this year for Maryland (2-2), which is in its bye week.

Brigham began the season as the backup left guard, but fell off the depth chart when junior Josh Cary returned from a knee injury. Brigham was not part of the travel roster for Maryland’s 31-21 loss at West Virginia on Saturday.

The 6-foot-2, 280-pound Atlanta native chose Maryland over Georgia Tech and Vanderbilt. His departure leaves only one scholarship offensive lineman – tackle Mike Madaras – in the Terrapins’ current freshman class.
