Who knew there were so many community organizers? Well, today they are furious and fighting back, angry over Republicans’ attacks on the world’s best-known community organizer, Barack Obama.
“Palin Insults Americans Making A Real Difference” reads the title of one press release.
Another organization said Sarah Palin’s charge that community organizers don’t have any responsibilities shows “that many of our political leaders have no idea what community organizing is or how it impacts the lives working people in communities across America every day.”
The releases go on to describe community organizing as “feeding the hungry and housing the homeless,” and credit organizers for “the weekend, the 8-hour day, integrated swimming pools, public transportation, health care for children and safe neighborhoods.”
Not that any of that clears up exactly what a community organizer does. But at least we know they’re angry, and accomplished.
