There were a few guys out on the ice after the morning skate (Sergei Fedorov, Mike Green, Eric Fehr and Chris Clark) working their way back from recent injuries — but Brian Pothier was also out there skating around as well.

Pothier hasn’t been on the ice since before training camp when he only went on for about five minutes (that gets mentioned in this story in today’s paper). Today he was out there for about 15-20 minutes, shooting pucks and moving around a pretty good clip. He only had skates and gloves on, but it was a big step for him.

He said he wouldn’t know until this afternoon or later tonight how it was going to affect him, but he was pretty excited about it. He said it was hard to hold back and it felt a kid getting on the ice again. Pothier is actually a little bit ahead of the schedule he laid out for me on Friday — he had orignally planned on just working out through the rest of this week and then maybe trying to go on the ice as soon as next week.
