*Tomas Fleischmann is out tonight. He is day-to-day with a lower body injury.
*Tom Poti and Alexander Semin will try to play tonight. Both will take the warmup and then make the decision. If Poti couldn’t play, the Caps would have to call someone up but all the signs certainly point to Poti playing. If Semin does play, then Alexandre Giroux would likely be the odd man out.
*There were no lines during the morning skate, but Osala [it is officially OH-sa-la, BTW] said he will be on a line with Brooks Laich and Matt Bradley. Bruce Boudreau warned that the no lines during morning skates thing might become a normal occurance.
*Osala said there is one NHL game on every night in his native country of Finland — and the Caps-Canadiens tilt on Saturday night is one of them. If he still around for the weekend, then all of his friends and family will get to watch him on TV — at 2 a.m. of course.
*The defense pairings will be:
*Eric Fehr and Chris Clark went out on the ice after the morning skate. Clark had two gloves on — he got the hard cast off and is working with a removable splint/brace now. Fehr said his shoulder injury is not as bad as he feared when it happened. He hopes to only be out days instead of weeks.
*Mike Green said he didn’t really feel any better than yesterday. He is close to coming back, but the waiting around is getting pretty frustrating for him.
*Keith Aucoin and Bryan Helmer have not officially been sent down, but they were not around today. Osala took Aucoin’s spot in the dressing room, and Helmer’s stall was empty. Helmer actually has to clear waivers to go back down to Hershey because of his NHL expereience.
