*Mike Green was very optimistic about his chances of playing tomorrow night against the Senators. He was taking real shots during practice today, and he said if it is up to him, he will be in the lineup. Bruce Boudreau offered some caution, saying Green told him he was ready to play the day after he got hurt, but did concede that Green could play tomorrow night. It should be noted that Green’s feelings about his shoulder injury have see-sawed from day-to-day a couple times since he got hurt, but he could be closer to probable than questionable.
*Tom Poti took a maintenance day, and Boudreau expects him to play tomorrow.
*Sergei Fedorov also said he feels better about his ankle. He said he’s not waiting until he’s 100 percent before he comes back — he just wants to feel comfortable playing on it. Boudreau also seemed more willing to think that Fedorov could be ready tomorrow or Saturday.
*Brent Johnson said he will be ready tomorrow night if called upon. When asked if Johnson’s nagging hip injury would keep him playing him on back-to-back nights if he wanted to, Boudreau said it was a possibility.
*Brian Pothier was on the ice on skates for a second straight day, so no major setbacks after his venture out there yesterday.
