Ovie Ties it Up

After failing to score on a power play to open the period, the Caps tied the game as Alex Ovechkin tied the game 2-2 at 5:07 into the period. It was an unassisted goal, as Ovie simply forced his way down the right side and, with a defenseman in his face, leaned right, shot and scored past Khabibulin.

It’s Ovechkin’s first goal of the year. I’ll go out on a limb and say it won’t be the last.

Caps with another power play opportunity here with about 13 minutes left in the second.
