The Caps are on the ice here at K-Plex for the morning skate. Everyone is out there, save for Donald Brashear. Bruce Boudreau came over to the media room a couple of minutes ago as guys were going out and said Brashear was “taking his option.” Still, it is interesting that he’s not out there today — people are going to ask if he’s the odd man out among the 13 forwards tonight (more on Boudreau’s likely vague response about that later).

The forward lines this morning are the same as they’ve been the past three days:

UPDATE: Both Tom Poti and Boyd Gordon were mum on whether they are playing tonight or not. Poti said his groin feels the same and it will be a game-time decision.

Brian Pothier and Chris Clark are the last skaters out on the ice, so it does look like Pothier will be the odd man out tonight.

Boudreau hasn’t addressed the media yet, but once he does I am going to run downtown for the Rangers skate and then check in from there.
