Bruce Boudreau said the lineup will remain unchanged for tonight’s game with conference-leading Boston. Jose Theodore will start in net again for the Caps. It would probably be safe to assume Brent Johnson will either start in Ottawa or on Long Island before the break.

* Chris Clark will sit for a second straight game.

* Boudreau didn’t sound very optimistic about Shaone Morrisonn, who was not on the ice again this morning.

* Tom Poti and Boyd Gordon are close to returning, but it won’t be tonight.

* The next four games could be critical in the Caps’ quest for the No. 1 seed in the playoffs. Two against Boston and two against bottom feeders. Considering that the Bruins have an 11-point lead on the Caps, Washington needs four points against the B’s, because even with a soft finish to the schedule making up a double-digit lead with only one game left against the team you’re chasing is going to almost impossible.

“If we’re fortunate enough to win both games, it will be more managable,” Boudreau said. “If we don’t win both of them, it is going to be pretty tough to catch them.”

Here is the probable lineup for tonight (will update if there are changes before the game):

Ovechkin-Backstrom-Kozlov

Fleischmann-Fedorov-Semin

Laich-Nylander-Fehr

Brashear-Steckel-Bradley

Erskine-Green

Alzner-Helmer

Schultz-Jurcina
