Chris Kunitz was fined, but not suspended, for his cross-check on Simeon Varlamov in the seconds before Sidney Crosby scored his third goal in Game 2.
Here’s what Kunitz had to say about the matter:
“It looks bad on tape, it definitely does,” Kunitz said. “It’s something I’m definitely not proud of. You don’t want to do that. Fortunately, he wasn’t injured. I was going to the net, trying to make space and unfortunately, I hit him in the head and that’s something the league is going against is hits on the head. I was fortunate [to not be suspended].”
