Bruce Boudreau says both Mike Green and Jeff Schultz will be game-time decisions for the Caps tonight against the Panthers. He also said he doesn’t expect Shaone Morrisonn to be suspended, because he feels it would have happened already if it was going to happen because of the game tonight.

Boudreau said Eric Fehr has been activated and to make room on the roster Alex Ovechkin is now on injured reserve — though if it was done retroactively as expected he only has to miss this game tonight and he would be eligible for Wednesday.

Fehr still may not play, however. If at least one of Green and Schultz can play, Boudreau said John Erskine will be back in the lineup and Tyler Sloan will stay at forward — meaning there would be no spot for Fehr. Considering Sloan has two goals in two games and is the perfect fallback option if one of those guys starts the game but can’t finish again, it makes some sense.

If both Green and Schultz are out, then Erskine is in, Sloan plays defense and Fehr comes in at forward. The Caps would only need a callup on defense if Morrisonn is indeed suspended later today, but much later and it would probably get a little hairy trying to get said defenseman here in time.

Boyd Gordon is the only player who went on the ice in full gear (Alexander Semin was out there in street clothes a couple of times). Boudreau said he doesn’t have an update on Gordon, who has missed 10 games with a back injury.

We’re about t-minus 30 minutes and counting from nap time thanks to a late night at BankAtlantic Center (here’s one vote against 7:30 start times) and an early flight. Check back later before the game to find out who is playing and who isn’t.
