Rick Santorum said Sunday he doesn’t expect to be considered as a possible running mate for Mitt Romney, but if the presumptive Republican nominee wants to talk, he’ll “take the call.”

Appearing on ABC’s “This Week” on Sunday, the former Romney rival for the GOP nomination said he hasn’t been contacted.

“No one has asked me for anything right now,” the former Pennsylvania senator said. “If he calls me, I’ll answer the phone call.”

Mr. Santorum, who ran second to Mr. Romney in the Republican delegate count, said he is actively campaigning for the former Massachusetts governor and other GOP candidates.

“We’re focused on trying to do what we can to help Governor Romney, help candidate all across this country by rallying conservatives, getting them excited about this race and the importance of it. And that’s really all I’m focused on right now. And I wish Governor Romney the best, and I’ll do whatever I can to be helpful to him.”
