ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — Democratic anger at Mitt Romney’s debate performance continued Friday with two prop planes that buzzed the GOP nominee’s evening campaign rally in St. Petersburg, Fla.

As hundreds gathered in a beach-front park to hear Mr. Romney, one yellow prop plane circled overhead drawing a banner that read “Most dishonest debate ever?” Another plane had a banner that read “Are you the 47 percent?”

President Obama and his allies have accused Mr. Romney of not telling the truth in some of his attacks earlier this week when the two men debated in Denver.

But Republicans have countered that Mr. Obama got out-debated and is feeling the heat from his own backers who were disappointed in him - particularly his failure to raise Mr. Romney’s comment to a closed-door fundraiser in May that 47 percent of Americans are dependent on government.

Mr. Romney’s supporters, meanwhile, have been energized by his performance.

“That debate felt good,” said Rick Baker, St. Petersburg’s former mayor, as he introduced Mr. Romney at the rally.
