Yet another fundraiser for President Obama has received the reward of a sought-after ambassadorship.
Robert A. Sherman, who raised at least $1.2 million for the president’s reelection, was nominated by Mr. Obama Thursday to become U.S. ambassador to Portugal. He’s at least the 13th big-money fundraiser to receive a plum diplomatic post from the president this year.
Mr. Sherman is a founding member of the Boston office of Greenberg Traurig, LLP where he has practiced since 1999. He is a member of the United States Holocaust Memorial Council since his appointment in January 2013.
He also served as an assistant attorney general in Massachusetts from 1991 to 1993.
