Sen. Rand Paul is heading to South Carolina to headline a barbecue hosted by the state Republican party Friday.

The trip to the early primary state for the Kentucky Republican and potential 2016 GOP presidential nominee will also include listening sessions in Spartanburg and Columbia before the barbecue hosted by the state Republican party at the South Carolina State Farmer’s Market in Columbia at 6 p.m.

“South Carolina Republicans are excited to hear from Senator Paul as he travels to South Carolina to share his message of limited government and free enterprise,” said Matt Moore, chairman of the South Carolina Republican Party. “South Carolina is proud to be an important part of the national process by highlighting rising stars in our party.”
