House GOP: Obama more concerned about basketball than budget

House Republicans are accusing President Obama of spending more time making his picks for the upcoming NCAA college basketball tournament than on his budget, which is more than a month late.

In a Web video, the House Republican Conference chided the president for recently saying he won’t release his budget plan until early April, while a faux basketball clock says he’s “0 days late” on filling out his tournament brackets.

Rep. Pete Sessions, Texas Republican posted on Twitter that the real “March Madness” is “when the president takes his brackets more seriously than the national budget.” GOP Rep. Bill Huizenga of Michigan tweeted that “President Obama is clutch with his brackets … not so much with his budgets.”

As for the president’s tournament picks, his Final Four teams are Louisville, Florida, Ohio State and Indiana. Indiana, he says, will beat Louisville in the championship.
