Former Rep. Anthony D. Weiner is running for mayor in New York, but he might not be able to outrun his past. The Democratic candidate told radio listeners on Thursday that more lewd pictures of him likely will turn up during the campaign.

As reported on The Weekly Standard website, WNYC-FM host Brian Leher asked Mr. Weiner: “What do you say to people who used to like you or who do like you politically, but are frankly creeped out by the nature of your sexting scandal and lying about it to the public when it first got revealed?”

“Well, first, I understand it and I get it completely and people are going to have to make a decision and I’m going to try and give them as much information as I can about it,” Mr. Weiner said. “There’s no doubt about it — I made very big mistakes. I compounded it immeasurably by being dishonest about it.”

“Any other shoes you want to drop on this that maybe you want to get out yourself before someone else does?” Mr. Leher asked.

“People may decide they want to come forward and say, ‘Here’s another email that I got or another photo,’ but I’m certainly not going to do that. So people may hear things that are true, they may hear things that are not true, but I’m going to try to keep leaning forward and being focused on issues that are important to New York City.”
