House Majority Leader Eric Cantor says he is ready to hold another vote to repeal President Obama’s health care law.
Mr. Cantor, Virginia Republican, took to Twitter to announce his plans.
“It just keeps getting worse. I am scheduling a vote for next week on the full repeal of #Obamacare,” he tweeted on a verified account.
The Republican-led chamber has voted more than 30 times to repeal the Affordable Care Act, but newer GOP members have been asking for their chance to weigh in on the contentious reforms in the current Congress.
Attempts at a wholesale repeal of Mr. Obama’s law are largely symbolic, so long as Democrats control the Senate and the White House.
Mr. Cantor recently had to withdraw a bill that would reconfigure the health care law by shifting money from a fund for preventative health to one that helps those with preexisting medical conditions pay for their care.
Vocal conservatives derided the bill, arguing there was no point in taking away from one facet of “Obamacare” to prop up another.
