Gov. Rick Perry says Americans don't trust Obama

Texas Gov. Rick Perry said Friday that President Obama is too busy toying with “big government” to really create jobs and build the middle class, a trend that makes people leery of his administration.

“Americans do not trust President Obama,” Mr. Perry, a Republican, told MSNBC.

Cable TV host Chuck Todd suggested the jobs numbers released Friday were actually pretty good, but Mr. Perry disagreed, noting the Keystone Pipeline and other initiatives could have created opportunities.

“These numbers are abysmal,” he said.

His comments on trust were a nod to Mr. Obama’s apology late Thursday for leading all Americans to believe they could keep their health plans under the new health care law.

Millions of Americans are receiving cancellation notices because their plans do not meet the Affordable Care Act’s standards.
