Sen. Ted Cruz, Texas Republican, does not rule out another government shutdown when the short-term spending deal runs out in January and says Obamacare remains his “top priority.”

“A lot of politicians in Washington want to put Obamacare behind us,” he said Monday on CNN’s “New Day.” “The American people are not satisfied with that.”

He also said Senate Republicans and a splintered party did more harm to the GOP brand than he did with his efforts to defund Obamacare, including a 21-plus-hour filibuster.

“The single most damaging thing that has happened to Republicans in 2014 is all the Senate Republicans coming out and attacking House Republicans … and lining themselves up against the American people,” he said.
