Rep. Renee Ellmers, North Carolina Republican, said she came to Washington to work on meaningful health care reform, but that Obamacare is not it.
“My plan is, let’s get rid of this failure and let’s start over with something that will work,” she said Monday on MSNBC.
Mrs. Ellmers called for the delay in the implementation of President Obama’s health care law and asked what she should tell her constituents who are seeing their rates skyrocket.
“How do I respond to that? Those are the questions I’d like to know,” she said.
While she may not see Obamacare as the path forward, the former registered nurse said she’s seen the effects of not having health insurance and supports an effort to make sure everyone can receive coverage.
“Every American should have access to affordable health care,” she said. “Every American should be able to provide health care for their families.”
