ST. LOUIS — The Nationals have a chance this afternoon to win their third series in their last four and to head to Pittsburgh two games over .500 for longer than two hours for the first time since May 16, 2010.
In order to do that, though, they’ll need their offense to perk up after a quiet night in a 5-3 loss to the Cardinals in Game 2 of a doubleheader.
The good news there is that the middle of the Nationals’ lineup has hit Cardinals right-hander Kyle Lohse well in their careers.
Tom Gorzelanny will be on the mound for the Nationals. He is 2-4 with a 4.98 ERA in his career against St. Louis but is 1-1 with a 3.20 mark at Busch Stadium.
