The Nationals have struck out 169 times this season. Only 11 teams in the major leagues have struck out less often than the Nationals, an admirable mark for an offense that has struggled to find its rhythm early this season. Facing strikeout master Tim Lincecum tonight at Nationals Park, though, they could end up closer to the bottom of the list by night’s end.

If tonight’s performance produces a double-digit strikeout night for Lincecum, he will make history and pass Christy Mathewson with the most double-digit strikeout games (29) in franchise history.

That said, several Nationals have solid numbers against Lincecum — albeit in small sample sizes.

Here are today’s lineups:

Danny Espinosa 2B
Rick Ankiel CF
Jayson Werth RF
Adam LaRoche 1B
Wilson Ramos C
Laynce Nix LF
Ian Desmond SS
Alex Cora 3B
Jason Marquis P

Aaron Rowand CF
Freddy Sanchez 2B
Aubrey Huff 1b
Buster Posey C
Pablo Sandoval 3B
Pat Burrell LF
Miguel Tejada SS
Cody Ross RF
Tim Lincecum P

And here are the Nationals’ career numbers against Lincecum, who is 2-2 with a 2.70 ERA:
