It’s a pretty quiet day at the ballpark today and we’re just minutes away from Jordan Zimmermann’s first pitch. With that in mind — and remember this is an incredibly small sample size — I checked out Zimmermann’s numbers against the Braves.

I think Nationals fans will be pretty encouraged.

Only four current Braves have gotten hits off the right-hander.

Martin Prado is 1-for-2, Chipper Jones is 1-for-3 with a triple and Dan Uggla is 1-for-5. David Ross is the only other Brave with a hit off Zimmermann, he is 1-for-2 with a walk, but he is not in the lineup this afternoon.

Overall, the Braves are batting .174 against Zimmermann with a .240 on-base percentage and seven strikeouts.

Regardless, with Zimmermann on the mound on one side and Tim Hudson on the other we should be in for  a well-pitched game. Enjoy.
