As Ian Desmond continues to manage an issue with his left quad, he’ll get the day of Sunday with the Nationals looking for their ninth straight victory. Desmond got last Sunday off as well, piggy backing on an off-day so he could get two days of rest and that’s what the Nationals are doing here as well.

So far it hasn’t drastically affected Desmond’s game as he continues to steal bases and broke the 20 stolen bases mark this weekend.

The Nationals will be making a roster move this morning to activate Tom Gorzelanny from the disabled list and start him today so we’ll have that for you when it happens.

For now, here’s the lineup behind the left-hander, making his first start in about three weeks:

Jayson Werth RF
Roger Bernadina CF
Ryan Zimmerman 3B
Laynce Nix LF
Michael Morse 1B
Danny Espinosa 2B
Wilson Ramos C
Tom Gorzelanny P
Alex Cora SS
