Facing their third left-hander in the last five games, manager Jim Riggleman is continuing to do exactly what he said he would with his new lineup: no major alterations but Roger Bernadina drops to the ninth spot and Ian Desmond moves up to second.

Only five of the current Nationals have ever faced Seattle lefty Erik Bedard but after almost three straight seasons lost to injury, Bedard is back to full health and pitching like it.

Matt Stairs: 2-for-8, 1 BB

Ivan Rodriguez: 4-for-7, 1 2B, 4 RBI, 2 K

Jerry Hairston Jr.: 0-for-5, 1 K

Jayson Werth: 0-for-2, 1 K

Ryan Zimmerman: 1-for-3, 1 2B, 1 K
