Nationals right-hander Chien-Ming Wang will take a monumental step in his tenure for the Washington Nationals on Monday: he will pitch in a professional game.
Wang, who joined the Nationals in February of 2010, has been rehabbing his shoulder extensively in Veira, Fla.
Monday he will pitch a few innings for Single-A Hagerstown, thought it was not known Friday just how many that would be. Wang has pitched in several extended spring training games buts this will be his first professional action with a Nationals affiliate outside of Florida.
Wang, who signed a two-year, $3 million deal, has not pitched in a major league game since July 4, 2009 when he was with the New York Yankees.
