ANAHEIM, Calif. — Davey Johnson was in uniform and standing behind the cage early Monday afternoon at Angels Stadium, wasting no time involved with his new club. Johnson stood and watched several of his players take early swings with Jayson Werth, Ryan Zimmerman, Danny Espinosa, Michael Morse, Matt Stairs, Brian Bixler and even Jason Marquis coming out to hit.

We’ll get our first conversation with the new manager shortly but his first lineup is already out and it includes Roger Bernadina batting leadoff and Matt Stairs as the designated hitter.

Here are the full lineups behind Nationals lefty John Lannan and Angels’ righty Ervin Santana:

— A reminder that closer Drew Storen will not be with the team today, heading home to Indiana for his grandmother’s funeral. The Nationals will play with 24 and Storen is expected back tomorrow.

Jayson Werth RF
Ryan Zimmerman 3B
Laynce Nix LF
Michael Morse 1B
