VIERA, Fla. — The Nationals are back home in Viera after a three-day stretch of road games, taking on the Cardinals this afternoon at Space Coast Stadium.

For some good news, Danny Espinosa (foot) and Ivan Rodriguez (calf) are both back in the starting lineup today to start. Ryan Zimmerman is still a few days away, but manager Jim Riggleman said he expects the third baseman to start some baseball activities this weekend and perhaps get into a game early next week.

Riggleman reiterated that, were this the regular season, Zimmerman would be in the lineup.

“He would be playing,” Riggleman said. “But we would be saying ‘On those 3-1, 3-2 counts, don’t run.’ He’d have to take away from his game a little bit, so we’re trying to not do that in spring training, let him take his time and get back out there.”

Jordan Zimmermann will be on the mound today for the Nationals, making his fourth start. Craig Stammen, Drew Storen and Sean Burnett are scheduled to follow him to the mound.

Here’s the Nationals lineup, which looks to be starter-heavy:

Nyjer Morgan CF
Ian Desmond SS
Jayson Werth RF
Adam LaRoche 1B
Michael Morse LF
Ivan Rodriguez C
Danny Espinosa 2B
Alberto Gonzalez 3B
Jordan Zimmermann P
