The Nationals open a quick five-game homestand tonight when they welcome the Marlins for three games and then the Pirates for two. Tonight, it’ll be left-hander Tom Gorzelanny against right-hander Chris Volstad.

Feel like you’ve seen this movie before? You have. This was the matchup last Saturday night in Florida, a game the Nationals won 5-2 with seven strong innings from Gorzelanny and jumping on Volstad for two runs early.

Coming off a tough, 10-inning loss against the Braves last night, the Nationals would likely be thrilled if tonight’s game followed a similar script to Saturday.

Here’s how the Nationals have done in the past against Volstad:

Roger Bernadina: 4-for-13 (.308), 1 RBI, 1 BB, .357 OBP, 2 K

Ian Desmond: 11-for-18 (.611), 3 2B, 1 3B, 1 HR, 5 RBI, 1 BB, .600 OBP, 1.056 SLG 1 K

Jayson Werth: 2-for-24 (.083), 1 RBI, 1 BB, .115 OBP, 7 K

Adam LaRoche: 4-for-10 (.400), 3 RBI, 2 BB, .500 OBP, 3 K

Wilson Ramos: 0-for-3, 1 K

Laynce Nix: 0-for-3, 1 K

Danny Espinosa: 2-for-6 (.333), 1 3B, .333 OBP, 2 K

Jerry Hairston Jr.: 3-for-11 (.273), 1 BB, .333 OBP, 1 K

Tom Gorzelanny: 0-for-2, 1 K

Others:

Ivan Rodriguez: 5-for-15 (.333), 6 RBI

Michael Morse: 3-for-10 (.300), 1 RBI, 1 BB, .364 OBP, 2 K
