MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. — Jayson Werth’s getting his second day off of the season as the Nationals look for the sweep over the Marlins this Mother’s Day afternoon.

The day off for Werth isn’t surprising for two reasons. First, he’s played every game since sitting out the second game of the Nationals doubleheader with the Brewers last month and second, he’s 2-for-22 with 15 strikeouts against Anibal Sanchez.
