NEW YORK — Facing knuckleballer R.A. Dickey on Monday, Nationals manager Davey Johnson took the opportunity to rest a few of his regulars and get some starts for the lesser-used guys on his roster. The decision worked out as Brian Bixler and Steve Lombardozzi combined to score the winning run in the Nationals’ 3-2 win over the Mets.

But with that game behind them, and needing just one more win to match their 2010 total, Johnson is sending a more traditional lineup out behind Chien-Ming Wang in the Taiwanese right-hander’s first game in New York since leaving the Yankees after the 2009 season.


Ian Desmond and Danny espinosa both return to the starting lineup and Jayson Werth shifts back to right field (on the lineup card, at least) while Rick Ankiel moves to center.
