After six seasons as the Washington Nationals’ Executive Vice President, Bob Wolfe is leaving the club following the 2011 season. Wolfe and the Nationals are parting ways on mutual terms, a team source said.
As executive vice president the past six seasons, Wolfe dealt with many aspects of the day-to-day operations of the club, including business and administrative areas like ballpark operations and development, finance and budget management, marketing and a host of other responsibilities.
He’s considered one of the key people involved in the development of Turner Field in Atlanta and building the Braves into the franchise they became in the 1990s, along with former Nationals president Stan Kasten, and was important in steadying the Nationals as they moved from RFK Stadium to Nationals Park.
