Updates from Nationals Park on today's doubleheader

← return to Nationals Watch

Here is the good news: The Nationals and Dodgers are set to start a doubleheader in 2 1/2 hours and neither team has announced that the game or games have been postponed. The groundscrew has taken off the tarp and appears to be doing major surgery to the infield.

So far, things are a go for the 1:05 p.m. game. The second game will begin 30 minutes after the first, weather permitting. My amateur meteorologist skills tell me that, by looking at the radar, it does look as though whatever we’re getting right now is passing and there’s not much behind it.

The Nationals will throw Chien-Ming Wang in the first game against right-hander Chad Billingsley and Ross Detwiler in the second game against Dana Eveland.

More from the clubhouse later.
