As I wrote last night, the flooding and devastation on City Island has been absolutely breathtaking. If you didn’t see it last night, please take a look at this photo, courtesy of Double-A Harrisburg infielder Tim Pahuta of Metro Bank Park.

Obviously it will be impossible for the Senators to play at that stadium for a very long time, as Nationals general manager Mike Rizzo said Thursday night. As such, the Richmond Flying Squirrels have been gracious enough to allow the shifting of the entire series to Richmond, Va., due to the flooding.

The Flying Squirrels have also been courteous enough to offer anyone holding tickets to any of the division series games originally scheduled for Harrisburg the ability to use those tickets in Richmond for Friday, Saturday and Monday’s games.

Here is the updated schedule:

Game 1: Friday, Sept. 9, 7:05 p.m. - Harrisburg will be the home team.

Game 2: Saturday, Sept. 10, 6:05 p.m - Harrisburg will be the home team.

Game 3: Sunday, Sept. 11, 1:05 p.m. - Richmond as the home team.

If necessary, Games No. 4 and No. 5 will be played as a seven-inning doubleheader on Monday night, the first game beginning at 6:05 p.m. Richmond would serve as the home team in Game 4, Harrisburg as the home team in Game 5.

For more information about tickets, call 804-359-3866.

The Harrisburg Senators offices will remain closed through at least Monday morning due to flooding. It’s an unfortunate circumstance for the Senators, who just watched as Metro Bank Park underwent nearly $32 million in renovations — $19 million of it state-funded — in a project that was completed prior to the 2010 season.\
