NEW YORK — While the Washington Nationals get set to open a three-game set with the National League East-leading New York Mets Monday night, outfielders Michael Morse and Rick Ankiel will take their rehab assignments to Single-A Hagerstown.

Morse and Ankiel had been rehabbing with Double-A Harrisburg (which was playing in Bowie, Md.) since Thursday but with Harrisburg moving on to New Britain, Conn., they’ll shift their rehab to Hagerstown where the Suns take on Lexington at 7:05 p.m. Monday night.

Morse is eligible to come off the disabled list on Tuesday and Ankiel eligible to return by 4/14.

We’ll get more of an idea of how close they are when we talk to Nationals manager Davey Johnson this afternoon, but speaking about the status of each on Sunday he didn’t give any hints as to whether Morse would be ready to return as early as possible or if he’d need a few more days.

Both are said to be progressing well.
