Today's lineups: Nationals open four against woebegone Astros

HOUSTON — If the Nationals were unsure at this point what a golden opportunity looked like, all they have to do to find one is step inside Minute Maid Park this week. The Nationals can’t control when the Atlanta Braves lose or who is on the rest of the Braves’ schedule. What they can control is winning their own games.

In that regard, playing four straight against an Astros team that has won just 36 games this season and have just three wins since the All-Star break, provides them ample opportunity to do so. The Nationals have to take advantage of bad teams and, well, the Astros are certainly one of those.

At any rate, the Nationals will send their somewhat usual lineup against a left-hander to the mound as they face Dallas Keuchel.

Here are the full lineups:

Nationals

Danny Espinosa 2B
Bryce Harper CF
Ryan Zimmerman 3B
Michael Morse LF
Adam LaRoche 1B
Jayson Werth RF
Kurt Suzuki C
Steve Lombardozzi 2B
Edwin Jackson P

Astros

Jose Altuve 2B
Marwin Gonzalez SS
Brett Wallace 1B
Justin Maxwell RF
Scott Moore 3B
J.D. Martinez LF
