Michael Morse's 2012 Topps baseball card features a familiar pose

With the Nationals’ roster needing only “tweaking” before spring training, this post is brought to you via a PR e-mail from Topps touting their 2012 trading cards — a line with the theme of “Going Golden” where gold cards, rings and coins are possible surprises inside the pack.

Anyway, the e-mail included the image of Michael Morse’s card for this season. While you’d expect Morse’s familiar pose to be one in which he’s swinging (or at least holding) a bat, given that the man did hit 31 home runs last season, well, you’d be wrong.

Here’s Morse’s card in which he’s seen dumping a very full bucket of Gatorade over the head of catcher Wilson Ramos. As Nationals fans itch for the first days of spring training, I’m sure this is an image that just warms all your baseball-starved hearts.
