The Nationals made a few roster moves Thursday, as outfielder Rick Ankiel was designated for assignment to clear space for activated reliever Drew Storen.

Storen, who has been rehabbing with the Class A Potomac Nationals and Class AA Harrisburg Senators this month, is now one of eight relievers on the Nationals’ roster. That leaves Washington with a four-man bench.

Catcher Jhonatan Solano was placed on the disabled list Thursday with a left oblique strain and rookie catcher Sandy Leon was recalled. Leon left the game on May 14 — his major league debut — with a high right ankle sprain.
