VIERA, Fla. — The Nationals are not planning to juggle their pitching staff around Monday’s offday, Nationals manager Davey Johnson said Saturday. The Nationals will have their only off day of the spring on Monday, March 19 and the Nationals are using the day to simply give every starter an extra day of rest before their next start.

Right-hander Edwin Jackson will make his fourth start of the spring on Sunday at home against the Detroit Tigers. Then all of the Nationals’ pitchers will make their next start on five days of rest.

Stephen Strasburg will pitch Tuesday night, March 20, in Port St. Lucie against the New York Mets. John Lannan will start Wednesday at home against the Atlanta Braves, Gio Gonzalez will travel to Jupiter to face the Cardinals on Thursday and Jordan Zimmermann will make his first road start of the spring on Friday when he travels to Kissimmee to face the Astros. Jackson will make his fifth start of the spring on Saturday, March 24, when the team travels to Sarasota to face the Orioles.
