Who the Nationals face in the National League Division Series this weekend remains to be seen, as does the 25-man roster manager Davey Johnson will use.

But Right-handers Zach Duke and Christian Garcia, both September call-ups, impressed Johnson enough to be considered for the postseason.

“(They) really jumped out,” Johnson said before today’s game.

Garcia put up a 2.19 earned-run average over 12 appearances and Duke, a National League All-Star in 2009, is 1-0 with a 1.32 ERA in eight games.

Left-hander John Lannan, the one-time opening day starter exiled to Triple-A Syracuse much of the season, could stick on the roster if the Nationals face the Braves, stocked with left-handed bats.

Johnson said the three pitchers and Stephen Strasburg, shut down for the season, will stay with the club during the playoffs, regardless of if they’re on the roster. Extra position players will relocate to the Nationals’ facility in Viera, Fla., to stay sharp in case of injury to a regular.

The Nationals will take Thursday off, but Gio Gonzalez and Jordan Zimmermann, who will start the first two postseason games, will throw at Nationals Park.
