Nationals-Mets lineup: Danny Espinosa out to attend grandmother's funeral

NEW YORK — The Washington Nationals will be without second baseman Danny Espinosa Wednesday evening in their finale with the New York Mets. Espinosa left the team to be with his family following the death of his grandmother.

Espinosa is expected to rejoin the Nationals on Friday in Atlanta.

The second baseman, who has missed just one game this season, was replaced in the Nationals’ lineup on Wednesday by Steve Lombardozzi as they faced hard-throwing right-hander Matt Harvey.

As expected, Michael Morse was also out of the Nationals’ lineup as he went for X-rays and an MRI on his left wrist this morning. Morse was replaced by Roger Bernadina. We’ll have more on Morse once the clubhouse opens to reporters. got the start in his place.
