Umpires delay start of Nationals - White Sox game

The start of Wednesday night’s Nationals game against the Chicago White Sox was delayed 15 minutes because the umpires were stuck in traffic. Their late arrival delayed their preparation for the game, as they explained in an announcement in the pressbox.

The delay was a little humorous, given D.C.’s well known issues with traffic, but likely a significant issue because of the Cherry Blossom festival going on downtown as well.

The umpires appeared on the field at 7:14 p.m. The game is scheduled to begin at 7:20 p.m.
