Nationals - Reds lineups: Adam LaRoche dropped to sixth as slump continues

It has been six games since Adam LaRoche has had a hit, the Washington Nationals’ first baseman mired in an 0-for-22 slump that has stretched almost an entire week now. 

So manager Davey Johnson has dropped LaRoche into the No. 6 spot in the lineup for Sunday’s series finale with the Cincinnati Reds. The switch bumps Ian Desmond up to the fifth spot, behind Jayson Werth. Danny Espinosa gets his second straight start at the No. 2 spot against left-hander Tony Cingrani.
