MILWAUKEE — Denard Span returned to the leadoff spot again on Saturday evening against the Milwaukee Brewers, with Bryce Harper in the No. 2 spot behind him, and it sounds like Span may find himself in his original lineup spot a bit more often that he has lately.

“I like the way Span’s been swinging the bat,” manager Davey Johnson said. “I like Harp’s on-base percentage up there. I think that’s our best chance to get guys on base and score runs.”

Johnson said he did not worry about stacking the left-handers against the Brewers because they only have one left-hander available in their bullpen — former National Michael Gonzalez — and he threw over 20 pitches in the ninth inning against the Nationals on Friday night.
